The Master of Science in Human Resources (MSHR) program at Western Carolina University
(WCU) develops HR leaders who drive organizational performance through strategic insight,
consulting expertise, and AI-informed decision-making.

What You'll Learn
The MSHR program is 36-semester-hours degree designed to develop advanced HR capability—not just knowledge. Through a combination
of required and elective courses, you will build expertise across strategic, relational,
operational, and ethically and socially responsible HR leadership.
You will engage with topics such as AI integration in HR, organizational analysis,
talent strategy, human resource development, and employment law—while developing the
ability to apply these concepts in real-world business contexts.
n two HR consulting courses, you will engage in real-world consulting projects with
nonprofit and small business organizations.
As a consultant, you will analyze complex HR challenges, develop strategic solutions,
and deliver actionable recommendations, applying your knowledge to drive real organizational
change.
